Bird life in Spring at Chestnut Grove- The Himalayan Lodge

With the spring season coming, our migratory friends will be back. It a good time for birding as the migratory as well as resident birds are spotted.. The weather is great for sitings, with the day breaking in early. The common birds to see during the season are Yellow Bill Blue Magpie,Blue Whistiling Thrush, Black Frankolin, Scaly Bellied  Woodpecker, Himalayan Woodpecker, Great Barbet, Eurasian Cuckoo, Streaked Lauighing Thrush, Asian Barred Owlet,Jungle Fowl, Tree Creeper and many more.

Himalayas in Winters





Weather is very uncertain these days, its bright and sunny on one day, and overcast on the other. But on the clear days the views of the Himalayan ranges are breathtaking! The peaks are laden with snow and are in their full glory. Chestnut Grove is just the place to be, to click the ranges, primarily Trishul, Nanda Devi twin peaks, and Nanda Kot .
